Livin’ Story

Livin’ Dred is a north-midlands based professional theatre company, with a passionate and bold commitment and vision:

  • To deliver and present excellent theatre, old and new, that speaks to our audience, challenges them and provides them with powerful theatrical experiences: locally, nationally and internationally.
  • To present new work (with emphasis on young and emerging playwrights) while also re-discovering and re-interpreting established works from the Classic Irish Repertoire.
  • To constantly re-examine our relationship with the landscape and the mindscape of Cavan and the surrounding midlands environs.

Our purpose is to put our audience at the front and centre of the theatrical experience: our aim is to constantly build our audience and re-examine our relationship with them. We do this by:

  • Creating theatre that relates to, represents, challenges, engages and entertains our audience, with particular emphasis on work representative of our home region.
  • Producing and presenting theatre in innovative ways that challenges our audiences’ ideals, beliefs and perceptions.
  • Constantly growing our audience through our constant commitment to touring our work regionally, nationally and internationally.

“I think theatre in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves live performance.”
